We took down the Wee Ones display today. Thanks to all who loaned their special family treasurers - baby photos, christening gowns and handknitted clothing. As usual, we are humbled by the community support we get to put on displays.
And thanks to Margaret Gutsell for making the 'deconstruction' process so easy. She carefully packed things up and delivered them to their owners.
Watch this space for news of the next display.
We're open Wednesdays and Sundays, 2pm-4pm, and by request. Your comments are always welcome!

Guess the Baby
We're nearly done putting together the Wee Ones baby display. Here is a sneak peak at our Guess the Baby contest. It's not gonna be easy!
We owe a big thank you to local photographer, Kelly Cormack, who donated some glass photo frames which are proving to be perfect for our purposes. They protect photos and allow them to be hung safely - not using any adhesives or blue tack on the walls. Thanks, Kelly!
Still looking for a few more baby photos of local Otautau people for this contest. If you have one, let us know.

Wee Ones

So we are getting on with the next display. It's called "Wee Ones," and it's all about babies and birth. We're seeking memorabilia from our community and hope to make it a good exhibition. We'd like to get started right away and have most of it up by September 1st. It will go on until March 1st 2014.
The community has already come forth with some good ideas - a 'guess the baby' contest and also a 'birthing advice' section.
Contact us if you having something you'd like to loan for this display. Anything from christening gowns to Plunket books would be wonderful but also looking for the unexpected too.
